Our History

Firesafe Chimney Service Inc. has a rich history that dates back to 1988 when our company was first established in Missouri. Our owner and president, Cary Freeman, began sweeping chimneys as a part-time job while serving in the military and attending college. Over the years, Cary's passion for chimney sweeping grew, and he expanded his services to the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area and Northwest Arkansas.

In 1994, Cary moved to Alaska and continued to travel to the Midwest to clean chimneys for loyal customers. After retiring from the U.S. Marine Corps, Cary dedicated himself full-time to building his business in Alaska. With his extensive background in construction, including bricklaying, carpentry, and electrical work, Cary is well-equipped to address the unique needs of Alaska's residents.

Today, Firesafe Chimney Service Inc. is a leading provider of chimney sweeping, gutter services, and duct care and cleaning in Alaska's Interior. Our team is certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) and the National Fireplace Institute, and we are proud members of the National Chimney Sweep Guild.
