Building Dreams, One Home at a Time

Our History

Piedmont Tree and Shrub Care was established in 1985 by Neal Perkins, who continues to serve as owner and lead arborist. Since our inception, we've grown from a small operation with limited equipment and a handful of clients to a trusted partner for over 10,000 customers in the Triad, North Carolina area. Our commitment to quality tree service has remained unwavering throughout the years, and we pride ourselves on exceeding our clients' expectations. Equipped with modern machinery, including bucket trucks, chippers, stump grinders, and loaders, we provide a comprehensive range of services to meet the diverse needs of our clientele.

Our Services

We understand that trees and shrubs are integral to the beauty and well-being of your property. That's why we offer a full spectrum of services designed to keep your outdoor spaces healthy, safe, and aesthetically pleasing.

Tree & Shrub Pruning

Tree pruning is an essential aspect of tree maintenance, particularly for trees growing in urban environments. Unlike their forest counterparts, trees in urban settings require regular pruning to promote optimal health and enhance their overall appearance.

Our experienced arborists understand the specific needs of different tree species and pruning techniques. We address a variety of pruning concerns, including:

  • Dead branches: Removing dead wood prevents disease transmission and enhances tree structural integrity.
  • Diseased or weak branches: Pruning out diseased or compromised branches minimizes the spread of infection and prevents potential hazards.
  • Crowded or rubbing branches: Thinning out densely packed branches improves air circulation, light penetration, and reduces the risk of branch breakage.
  • Overweight branches: Reducing the weight of branches, especially those prone to storm damage, enhances the tree's resilience against strong winds.
  • Visibility concerns: Pruning strategically around structures and traffic areas ensures clear lines of sight, promoting safety and preventing accidents.
  • Curb appeal: Proper pruning enhances the aesthetic appeal of your property, increasing its value and making it more attractive to potential buyers.

Tree & Shrub Removal

While we prioritize preserving healthy trees, there are instances where tree removal becomes necessary. We carefully consider all viable alternatives, recognizing the ecological and aesthetic value of trees.

Reasons for tree removal may include:

  • Dead and diseased trees: Removing diseased trees prevents the spread of infection and mitigates potential hazards.
  • New construction or remodeling: Tree removal may be required to accommodate building projects or landscape redesigns.
  • Construction damage: Trees damaged during construction require assessment and may need to be removed to ensure safety.
  • Play areas: Removing trees near play areas eliminates potential hazards for children.
  • Sun exposure: Tree removal can increase sunlight access to gardens or create space for outdoor living areas.

Safety is paramount in our tree removal process. Our expert arborists utilize specialized equipment and techniques to safely remove trees in any location, minimizing risks to people and property.

Stump Grinding

Old tree stumps can be unsightly eyesores and pose obstacles to lawn care and gardening activities. Stump grinding effectively and efficiently removes stumps below ground level, restoring the aesthetic appeal of your property and ease of maintenance.
