Our History

The "Hedgecock" name is synonymous with quality and reliability in the building supply industry. Our history dates back to 1928 when Delos Hedgecock started Hedgecock Roofing Company in High Point, North Carolina. After the Great Depression, Delos re-opened the business and began offering rough-sawn lumber. Over the years, the operation grew, and we introduced dressed lumber. In 1956, J.S. Hedgecock, Delos's brother, opened Hedgecock Building Supply on Guilford College Rd. in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company continued to expand, and in 1968, Jasper Hedgecock bought the former Stokes Lumber Company from Mr. William Marshall. Jasper remained the owner until his retirement in 1989. Donnie Hedgecock, one of Jasper's sons, joined the team in 1984 and is still with us today, providing invaluable knowledge and customer service.

Our Legacy

From Jasper's retirement until 2005, Tom Adams, Jasper's brother-in-law, served as General Manager. Tom was instrumental in his personal touch with customer service and stood firm on our belief that without our customers, we would not be here. Randy Hedgecock, Jasper's son, took over as General Manager from 2005 to 2015. Randy brought us through some tough times in the home building industry. In 2015, David Bray took over as General Manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience and a vision for the future.
