AVRE is a private, non-profit organization that has been serving people with vision loss in the Southern Tier of New York for over 90 years. We believe in empowering individuals to achieve their full potential and live independent lives.

Our mission is to create opportunities for success and independence for people who are blind or visually impaired through vision rehabilitation services and employment. We envision ourselves as the leading provider of vision rehabilitation services and employment opportunities in the region.

Our Business Division

Unique for a non-profit, AVRE runs a thriving business alongside its clinical services. Our Business Division manufactures various office products, custom contract packaging, and operates several switchboard operations. The revenue generated from this division directly supports our vision rehabilitation services, ensuring accessibility to those who need them most.
