Our Story
Under One Roof was founded in 1982 by Arthur and Caroline Roof, and since 2002, Michelle Mathena has owned and operated the business. We're proud to have received numerous awards, including the Angie's List Super Service Award, People Love Us On Yelp Awards, and are a long-time member of the Illinois Movers' and Warehousemen's Association, committed to their Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Our Services
We specialize in local moving throughout the Chicago area, including residential moving, office moving, packing, hoisting, piano moving, loading/unloading rental trucks and pods. Our simple pricing consists of an hourly rate, which includes all materials to safely move items, and a travel charge determined by how far your furthest location is from our office. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Residential Moving
Our residential moving services include free estimates, friendly and honest employees, packing services, furniture disassembly and assembly, moving within the same building, labor-only moving, truck loading and unloading, moving for home organization, staging or remodeling projects, storage unit pick up and drop off, pod loading and unloading, piano moving, senior moves, and fine art and antiques moving.
Office Moving
Our office moving services include free estimates, friendly and honest employees, packing and unpacking services, furniture disassembly and assembly, furniture arrangement and rearrangement, labor-only moves, and after-hours and weekend relocations.
Packing Services
Our packing services include boxes and packing supplies available for purchase for DIY packing, free delivery of packing supplies for DIY packing on orders over $100 within 10 miles of our office, full packing services prior to your moving day, and unpacking services.
