At Dearness Gardens Nursery and Landscaping, we are a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the Lake Norman area for over 25 years. Our mission is to provide our customers with the most impressive selection of plants, the most beautiful shopping location, and exceptional customer service. We are located in Huntersville, North Carolina, just north of Charlotte, and occupy 3 acres on a rustic 1920's farmstead in the heart of downtown Huntersville.
Our Story
Dearness Gardens was established in 1995 with the intention of creating an independent, family-owned destination garden center with character and quaint charm. We pride ourselves on having a staff of enthusiastic and knowledgeable plant geeks who are dedicated to helping our customers create beautiful and functional landscapes. Our goal is to "make the world a better place one garden at a time" by promoting sustainable and organic gardening practices that are healthier for humans, pets, songbirds, and pollinators, and of course, the planet!
Meet Our Team
At Dearness Gardens, we have a team of experts who are passionate about plants and dedicated to helping our customers. Our team includes Ken, our owner, who loves talking with customers and sharing his vast knowledge of plants. We also have Liz, our container gardening queen, who is always happy to share her expertise with our customers. Our general manager, Lindsay, is a born-and-raised Lake Norman local who loves playing outside all day and being with her Dearness tribe. We also have Christine, our purchasing manager, who is always learning something new every day. Our operations manager, Chris, is surrounded by plants and wildlife and loves being part of the Dearness family. Our customer service manager, Kristy, loves the Dearness family and is always happy to help our customers. We also have Jeremy, our landscape consultant, who loves the new and exotic plants we get every year. Our landscape designers, Tina and Christy, are both plant enthusiasts who love designing beautiful and functional landscapes.

We have a wide range of products that cater to different needs and preferences. Our products include garden decor and farmhouse gift shop items, soil, fertilizers, and pest control products, pollinator and native gardening plants, trees, Japanese maples, shrubs, annuals, perennials, herbs, roses, aquatic plants, and house plants.
